#10: Planetary Alignment Decreases Gravity
1976: The British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth's own gravity. Moore told his listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment that this planetary alignment occurred, they would experience a strange floating sensation. When 9:47 AM arrived, BBC2 began to receive hundreds of phone calls from listeners claiming to have felt the sensation. One woman even reported that she and her eleven friends had risen from their chairs and floated around the room.

This prank shows how peoples mind's play with them when they THINK something is going on. The "sensation" is COMPLETELY sychological OR is made up. That woman is hularious, and MUST have felt stupid after finding out it was all a joke!!

I just revised the wording and time to indicate that this would occur today. I've sent it to the adminstrators in the school district where I work. I can't wait to see how many "takers" I get. Hope I'm employed tomorrow.

Maybe at that exact time a UFO or something (magnetic waves) went by the Earth, and caused that woman and her friends to float in the air? No one would notice. Think about how easy it is for someone out there to do things like that on April 1, no one will believe the people that claims something happened to them anyway!

Leave her alone, at least she has better things to do other than make fun of the less fortunate. -_-

Q101.9 in Chicago played this joke this morning. It was hysterical to hear all the listeners that called in to say they tried it and did/didn't feel anything. One woman pulled over to the side of the road and was jumping up and down and the police came. She shrugged at them like she wasn't sure why she was doing it and then they just laughed and drove away.

Yes I'd rise from my chair too if I had been smokin what those gals were
smoking. The Brits (as I call them) are real nice people but definitely not the brightest bulbs on the string.
Basically "a nice bunch of chaps I dare say"

Patrick Moore met Einstein.
I've met Patrick Moore.
So I've kind of met Einstein once removed.
How cool's that?

OMG, I would have probably fallen for this one too! Ugh... I'm so gullible. Hey, this is coming from the girl who believed her friend when he told her there were upper and lower case numbers! One set is used for everyday things, the other is used for business! DUH!!! LOL
